People lie to one another; they flatter and deceive.

His words are as smooth as butter, but he harbors animosity in his heart. His words seem softer than oil, but they are really like sharp swords.

What is desirable for a person is to show loyal love, and a poor person is better than a liar.

Like a coating of glaze over earthenware are fervent lips with an evil heart.

The one who hates others disguises it with his lips, but he stores up deceit within him.

When he speaks graciously, do not believe him, for there are seven abominations within him.

These two kings, their minds filled with evil intentions, will trade lies with one another at the same table. But it will not succeed, for there is still an end at the appointed time.

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”

She said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you will not share your secret with me? Three times you have deceived me and have not told me what makes you so strong.”
