Your words are sweeter in my mouth than honey!

I claim your rules as my permanent possession, for they give me joy.

With my lips I proclaim all the regulations you have revealed.

I rejoice in your instructions, like one who finds much plunder.

May praise flow freely from my lips, for you teach me your statutes.

They are of greater value than gold, than even a great amount of pure gold; they bring greater delight than honey, than even the sweetest honey from a honeycomb.

Wisdom is found in the words of the discerning person, but the one who lacks wisdom will be disciplined.

The teaching of the righteous feeds many, but fools die for lack of wisdom.

The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the heart of fools.

The one who is wise in heart is called discerning, and kind speech increases persuasiveness.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and moral knowledge will be attractive to you.

So that your confidence may be in the Lord, I am making them known to you today – even you.

Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is a word skillfully spoken.

Her ways are very pleasant, and all her paths are peaceful.

My child, pay attention to my words; listen attentively to my sayings.

Do not let them depart from your sight, guard them within your heart;

Listen, for I will speak excellent things, and my lips will utter what is right.

As your words came to me I drank them in, and they filled my heart with joy and happiness because I belong to you.

For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge of sacred things, and people should seek instruction from him because he is the messenger of the Lord who rules over all.

let the one who believes in me drink. Just as the scripture says, ‘From within him will flow rivers of living water.’”

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.
