Your claim to have a strategy and military strength is just empty talk. In whom are you trusting, that you would dare to rebel against me?

One who argues with his creator is in grave danger, one who is like a mere shard among the other shards on the ground! The clay should not say to the potter, “What in the world are you doing? Your work lacks skill!”

The Lord says, “Wise people should not boast that they are wise. Powerful people should not boast that they are powerful. Rich people should not boast that they are rich.

Instead, they tried to row back to land, but they were not able to do so because the storm kept growing worse and worse.

So in this case I say to you, stay away from these men and leave them alone, because if this plan or this undertaking originates with people, it will come to nothing,

but if it is from God, you will not be able to stop them, or you may even be found fighting against God.” He convinced them,

The king of Jericho received this report: “Note well! Israelite men have come here tonight to spy on the land.”

and a stumbling-stone and a rock to trip over. They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
