Calamity pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.

Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.”

A slanderer will not endure on the earth; calamity will hunt down a violent man and strike him down.

An evil person suffers much pain, but the Lord’s faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him.

May those who wait to ambush me be repaid for their evil! As a demonstration of your faithfulness, destroy them!

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, how much more the wicked sinner!

The one who despises instruction will pay the penalty, but whoever esteems instruction will be rewarded.

As for the one who repays evil for good, evil will not leave his house.

Although a righteous person may fall seven times, he gets up again, but the wicked will be brought down by calamity.

Disaster will overtake you; you will not know how to charm it away. Destruction will fall on you; you will not be able to appease it. Calamity will strike you suddenly, before you recognize it.

“This is what the sovereign Lord says: A disaster – a one-of-a-kind disaster – is coming!

“But if you do not do this, then look, you will have sinned against the Lord. And know that your sin will find you out.

When the local people saw the creature hanging from Paul’s hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer! Although he has escaped from the sea, Justice herself has not allowed him to live!”
