For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors I will say, “May there be peace in you!”

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. This then is my joy, and it is complete.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree together, to end your divisions, and to be united by the same mind and purpose.

Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice, set things right, be encouraged, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

And I wrote this very thing to you, so that when I came I would not have sadness from those who ought to make me rejoice, since I am confident in you all that my joy would be yours.

We were encouraged not only by his arrival, but also by the encouragement you gave him, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your deep concern for me, so that I rejoiced more than ever.

I always pray with joy in my every prayer for all of you

by holding on to the word of life so that on the day of Christ I will have a reason to boast that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain.

For there is no one here like him who will readily demonstrate his deep concern for you.

I appeal to Euodia and to Syntyche to agree in the Lord.

For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your morale and the firmness of your faith in Christ.

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.

Yes, brother, let me have some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

I rejoiced greatly because I have found some of your children living according to the truth, just as the Father commanded us.

I have no greater joy than this: to hear that my children are living according to the truth.
