I, Paul, have written this letter with my own hand: I will repay it. I could also mention that you owe me your very self.

I myself pledge security for him; you may hold me liable. If I do not bring him back to you and place him here before you, I will bear the blame before you all my life.

I, Tertius, who am writing this letter, greet you in the Lord.

For though you may have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, because I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

Now I, Paul, appeal to you personally by the meekness and gentleness of Christ (I who am meek when present among you, but am full of courage toward you when away!) –

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

For if any of the Macedonians should come with me and find that you are not ready to give, we would be humiliated (not to mention you) by this confidence we had in you.

Listen! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to you at all!
