Numbers 16:3

And they assembled against Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “You take too much upon yourselves, seeing that the whole community is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the community of the Lord?”

He has not looked on iniquity in Jacob, nor has he seen trouble in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; his acclamation as king is among them.

Therefore do not defile the land that you will inhabit, in which I live, for I the Lord live among the Israelites.”

You must expel both men and women; you must put them outside the camp, so that they will not defile their camps, among which I live.”

Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him, but pushed him aside and turned back to Egypt in their hearts,

“You stubborn people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit, like your ancestors did!
