Numbers 14:27

“How long must I bear with this evil congregation that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

“I have heard the murmurings of the Israelites. Tell them, ‘During the evening you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be satisfied with bread, so that you may know that I am the Lord your God.’”

So the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to obey my commandments and my instructions?

and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your murmurings against the Lord. As for us, what are we, that you should murmur against us?”

Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole community of the Israelites, ‘Come before the Lord, because he has heard your murmurings.’”

You exalted yourselves against me with your speech and hurled many insults against me – I have heard them all!

When the people complained, it displeased the Lord. When the Lord heard it, his anger burned, and so the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outer parts of the camp.

The Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron:

But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Do not be afraid.”

He answered them, “You unbelieving generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him to me.”

And do not complain, as some of them did, and were killed by the destroying angel.
