The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks the wicked to the ground.

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he exalts the oppressed by delivering them.

The Lord spoke immediately to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam: “The three of you come to the tent of meeting.” So the three of them went.

Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings.

but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.
