But he saw through their hypocrisy and said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”

Now immediately, when Jesus realized in his spirit that they were contemplating such thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?

But Jesus, realizing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, and a divided household falls.

When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand, “Get up and stand here.” So he rose and stood there.

So Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” He replied, “Say it, Teacher.”

Jesus could see that they wanted to ask him about these things, so he said to them, “Are you asking each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while you will not see me; again after a little while, you will see me’?

Now we know that you know everything and do not need anyone to ask you anything. Because of this we believe that you have come from God.”

Jesus said a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Feed my sheep.

When Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended?

But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus had already known from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)

Peter then told her, “Why have you agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out!”

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.
