That day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well they had dug. “We’ve found water,” they reported.

One night in Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream. God said, “Tell me what I should give you.”

Lord, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

The wicked man is so arrogant he always thinks, “God won’t hold me accountable; he doesn’t care.”

You deserve praise, O Lord! Teach me your statutes!

My heart tells me to pray to you, and I do pray to you, O Lord.

I sought the Lord’s help and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Then you will take delight in the Lord, and he will answer your prayers.

Pray to me when you are in trouble! I will deliver you, and you will honor me!”

The oppressed look on – let them rejoice! You who seek God, may you be encouraged!

May all those who seek you be happy and rejoice in you! May those who love to experience your deliverance say continually, “May God be praised!”

Certainly O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, and show great faithfulness to all who cry out to you.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

“I will arise and look all around throughout the town, and throughout the streets and squares; I will search for my beloved.” I searched for him but I did not find him.

For people will live in Zion; in Jerusalem you will weep no more. When he hears your cry of despair, he will indeed show you mercy; when he hears it, he will respond to you.

‘Call on me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great and mysterious things which you still do not know about.’

The Lord says this to the family of Israel: “Seek me so you can live!

Again, I tell you the truth, if two of you on earth agree about whatever you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.”

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

If you then, although you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

For this reason I tell you, whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, then you will stand outside and start to knock on the door and beg him, ‘Lord, let us in!’ But he will answer you, ‘I don’t know where you come from.’

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you.

Jesus answered her, “If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you, ‘Give me some water to drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality,

there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.

Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up – and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.
