Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

As he was walking by the Sea of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea (for they were fishermen).

They left their nets immediately and followed him.

But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth. “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax booth. “Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. “Follow me,” he said to him.

Jesus said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

On the next day Jesus wanted to set out for Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Jesus replied, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”

But be that as it may, I have not burdened you. Yet because I was a crafty person, I took you in by deceit!
