When he went out to the gateway, another slave girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.”

He came to a town called Nazareth and lived there. Then what had been spoken by the prophets was fulfilled, that Jesus would be called a Nazarene.

But he denied it in front of them all: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

He denied it again with an oath, “I do not know the man!”

Then a little later someone else saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”
