“Out of our way!” they cried, and “This man came to live here as a foreigner, and now he dares to judge us! We’ll do more harm to you than to them!” They kept pressing in on Lot until they were close enough to break down the door.

Say, ‘This is what the king says, “Put this man in prison. Give him only a little bread and water until I safely return.”’”

When Jehu rejoined his master’s servants, they asked him, “Is everything all right? Why did this madman visit you?” He replied, “Ah, it’s not important. You know what kind of man he is and the kinds of things he says.”

But when the Pharisees heard this they said, “He does not cast out demons except by the power of Beelzebul, the ruler of demons!”

So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Have you no answer? What is this that they are testifying against you?”

When he went out to the gateway, another slave girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.”

and saying, “You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God’s Son, come down from the cross!”

So Judas threw the silver coins into the temple and left. Then he went out and hanged himself.

“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple made with hands and in three days build another not made with hands.’”

Those who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days,

They began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man subverting our nation, forbidding us to pay the tribute tax to Caesar and claiming that he himself is Christ, a king.”

We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man comes from!”

Also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him, and some were asking, “What does this foolish babbler want to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.” (They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)

saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God in a way contrary to the law!”

The crowd was listening to him until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted, “Away with this man from the earth! For he should not be allowed to live!”
