I can do nothing on my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the one who sent me.

For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.

So when Peter came in, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.

He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!

During his earthly life Christ offered both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
