Jesus answered, “You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him here to me.”

For forty years I was continually disgusted with that generation, and I said, ‘These people desire to go astray; they do not obey my commands.’

So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh and told him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews: ‘How long do you refuse to humble yourself before me? Release my people so that they may serve me!

So the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to obey my commandments and my instructions?

“How long will you simpletons love naiveté? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

How long, you sluggard, will you lie there? When will you rise from your sleep?

The Lord has made them undiscerning; they lead Egypt astray in all she does, so that she is like a drunk sliding around in his own vomit.

“Oh people of Jerusalem, purify your hearts from evil so that you may yet be delivered. How long will you continue to harbor up wicked schemes within you?

The Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?

“How long must I bear with this evil congregation that murmurs against me? I have heard the complaints of the Israelites that they murmured against me.

And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

When Jesus learned of this, he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing among yourselves about having no bread?

I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to heal him.”

Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment.

And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith?

But he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm.

Then he appeared to the eleven themselves, while they were eating, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him resurrected.

He answered them, “You unbelieving generation! How much longer must I be with you? How much longer must I endure you? Bring him to me.”

So he said to them, “You foolish people – how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

Jesus answered, “You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you and endure you? Bring your son here.”

Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and examine my hands. Extend your hand and put it into my side. Do not continue in your unbelief, but believe.”

For a period of about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.

With many other words he testified and exhorted them saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse generation!”

I wish that you would be patient with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you are being patient with me!

His people have been unfaithful to him; they have not acted like his children – this is their sin. They are a perverse and deceitful generation.
