But you say that if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever help you would have received from me is corban’ (that is, a gift for God),
“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When someone among you presents an offering to the Lord, you must present your offering from the domesticated animals, either from the herd or from the flock.
But you say, ‘If someone tells his father or mother, “Whatever help you would have received from me is given to God,”
And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar is bound by nothing. But if anyone swears by the gift on it he is bound by the oath.’
The chief priests took the silver and said, “It is not lawful to put this into the temple treasury, since it is blood money.”
