But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” And they said, “Should we go and buy bread for two hundred silver coins and give it to them to eat?”

An officer who was the king’s right-hand man responded to the prophet, “Look, even if the Lord made it rain by opening holes in the sky, could this happen so soon?” Elisha said, “Look, you will see it happen with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of the food!”

From where shall I get meat to give to this entire people, for they cry to me, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat!’

But he replied, “They don’t need to go. You give them something to eat.”

After he went out, that same slave found one of his fellow slaves who owed him one hundred silver coins. So he grabbed him by the throat and started to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe me!’

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five – and two fish.”

“A certain creditor had two debtors; one owed him five hundred silver coins, and the other fifty.

But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They replied, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish – unless we go and buy food for all these people.”
