But he saw through their hypocrisy and said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”

“Son of man, offer a riddle, and tell a parable to the house of Israel.

And after agreeing with the workers for the standard wage, he sent them into his vineyard.

But Jesus realized their evil intentions and said, “Hypocrites! Why are you testing me?

Then some Pharisees came, and to test him they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

When they came they said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are truthful and do not court anyone’s favor, because you show no partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? Should we pay or shouldn’t we?”

So they brought one, and he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.”

But Jesus perceived their deceit and said to them,

Jesus said a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Feed my sheep.

(Now they were asking this in an attempt to trap him, so that they could bring charges against him.) Jesus bent down and wrote on the ground with his finger.

Peter then told her, “Why have you agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out!”

And let us not put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes.

And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

Furthermore, I will strike her followers with a deadly disease, and then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts. I will repay each one of you what your deeds deserve.
