When the woman saw that she could not escape notice, she came trembling and fell down before him. In the presence of all the people, she explained why she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.

Serve the Lord in fear! Repent in terror!

O Lord, you understand my heart’s desire; my groaning is not hidden from you.

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I know that power has gone out from me.”

Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Calling for lights, the jailer rushed in and fell down trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas.

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.

And his affection for you is much greater when he remembers the obedience of you all, how you welcomed him with fear and trembling.

So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence,

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

Samuel did what the Lord told him. When he arrived in Bethlehem, the elders of the city were afraid to meet him. They said, “Do you come in peace?”
