When they received it, they began to complain against the landowner,

He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too, and I will give you whatever is right.’

When the Pharisees saw this they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

So he came down quickly and welcomed Jesus joyfully.

But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”

But the Pharisees and their experts in the law complained to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him, a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him, that she is a sinner.”
