And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

O Lord, I cry out to you. Come quickly to me! Pay attention to me when I cry out to you!

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you.

But he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Woe to you experts in religious law! You have taken away the key to knowledge! You did not go in yourselves, and you hindered those who were going in.”

Then Jesus told them a parable to show them they should always pray and not lose heart.

Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him,

But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”

While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”

I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me.
