“The law and the prophets were in force until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is urged to enter it.

As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near!’

What defiles a person is not what goes into the mouth; it is what comes out of the mouth that defiles a person.”

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although you saw this, you did not later change your minds and believe him.

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

Jesus went throughout all of Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of disease and sickness among the people.

Now after John was imprisoned, Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God.

But as the man went out he began to announce it publicly and spread the story widely, so that Jesus was no longer able to enter any town openly but stayed outside in remote places. Still they kept coming to him from everywhere.

‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.’

Heal the sick in that town and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come upon you!’

But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to them.’

He replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about – Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

If we allow him to go on in this way, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away our sanctuary and our nation.”

Thus the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you can do nothing. Look, the world has run off after him!”

But the things God foretold long ago through all the prophets – that his Christ would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.
