Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall, and lead it to water?

With his speech the godless person destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

For tyrants will disappear, those who taunt will vanish, and all those who love to do wrong will be eliminated –

Leave them! They are blind guides. If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, both will fall into a pit.”

Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said,

“But woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You keep locking people out of the kingdom of heaven! For you neither enter nor permit those trying to enter to go in.

In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Meanwhile, when many thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Then he said to them, “Which of you, if you have a son or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?”

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while you yourself don’t see the beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

and sent them to Jesus to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”
