When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am the sovereign God. Walk before me and be blameless.

This is the account of Noah. Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked with God.

You have no share or part in this matter because your heart is not right before God!

so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

I praise you because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you.

For our reason for confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity which are from God – not by human wisdom but by the grace of God – we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more toward you.

Walk just as he has commanded you so that you may live, that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land you are going to possess.

so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the world

but now he has reconciled you by his physical body through death to present you holy, without blemish, and blameless before him –

so that your hearts are strengthened in holiness to be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.

Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.

If you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered by him.

Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.

Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Jesus is righteous.
