“‘If what is vowed is a kind of animal from which an offering may be presented to the Lord, anything which he gives to the Lord from this kind of animal will be holy.

It is a snare for a person to rashly cry, “Holy!” and only afterward to consider what he has vowed.

Do not let your mouth cause you to sin, and do not tell the priest, “It was a mistake!” Why make God angry at you so that he would destroy the work of your hands?”

They must not sell or exchange any of it; they must not transfer this choice portion of land, for it is set apart to the Lord.

He must not replace or exchange it, good for bad or bad for good, and if he does indeed exchange one animal for another animal, then both the original animal and its substitute will be holy.
