Leviticus 19:18

You must not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the children of your people, but you must love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be in fear, for it does not bear the sword in vain. It is God’s servant to administer retribution on the wrongdoer.

For the commandments, “Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet,” (and if there is any other commandment) are summed up in this, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

For the whole law can be summed up in a single commandment, namely, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”

idolatry, sorcery, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, factions,

You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and evil, slanderous talk.

The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.

I will get revenge and pay them back at the time their foot slips; for the day of their disaster is near, and the impending judgment is rushing upon them!”

But now, put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.

For we know the one who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

But if you fulfill the royal law as expressed in this scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.
