Also, when I cry out desperately for help, he has shut out my prayer.

“If I cry out, ‘Violence!’ I receive no answer; I cry for help, but there is no justice.

I cry out to you, but you do not answer me; I stand up, and you only look at me.

My God, I cry out during the day, but you do not answer, and during the night my prayers do not let up.

O Lord God, invincible warrior! How long will you remain angry at your people while they pray to you?

You shrouded yourself with anger and then pursued us; you killed without mercy.

You shrouded yourself with a cloud so that no prayer can get through.

How long, Lord, must I cry for help? But you do not listen! I call out to you, “Violence!” But you do not intervene!

At about three o’clock Jesus shouted with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
