If only we had been satisfied to live on the other side of the Jordan! O Lord, what can I say now that Israel has retreated before its enemies?

“And now what are we able to say after this, our God? For we have forsaken your commandments

You made us retreat from the enemy. Those who hate us take whatever they want from us.

You turn back his sword from the adversary, and have not sustained him in battle.
