I thought I had been banished from your sight, that I would never again see your holy temple!

When they hear about your great reputation and your ability to accomplish mighty deeds, they will come and direct their prayers toward this temple.

When they return to you with all their heart and being in the land where they are held prisoner, and direct their prayers to you toward the land you gave to their ancestors, your chosen city, and the temple I built for your honor,

then I will remove Israel from the land I have given them, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and Israel will be mocked and ridiculed among all the nations.

When they return to you with all their heart and being in the land where they are held prisoner and direct their prayers toward the land you gave to their ancestors, your chosen city, and the temple I built for your honor,

I jumped to conclusions and said, “I am cut off from your presence!” But you heard my plea for mercy when I cried out to you for help.

By day the Lord decrees his loyal love, and by night he gives me a song, a prayer to the living God.

But as for me, because of your great faithfulness I will enter your house; I will bow down toward your holy temple as I worship you.

You place me in the lowest regions of the pit, in the dark places, in the watery depths.

Your anger bears down on me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves. (Selah)

“Look, the grief I experienced was for my benefit. You delivered me from the pit of oblivion. For you removed all my sins from your sight.

“Zion said, ‘The Lord has abandoned me, the sovereign master has forgotten me.’

Then the Lord said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for these people, I would not feel pity for them! Get them away from me! Tell them to go away!

And I will drive you out of my sight just like I drove out your relatives, the people of Israel.’”

The waters closed over my head; I thought I was about to die. ק (Qof)

Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are all the house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope has perished; we are cut off.’

When Daniel realized that a written decree had been issued, he entered his home, where the windows in his upper room opened toward Jerusalem. Three times daily he was kneeling and offering prayers and thanks to his God just as he had been accustomed to do previously.

When my life was ebbing away, I called out to the Lord, and my prayer came to your holy temple.
