Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes me will live because of me.

For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

Now what is the meaning of “he ascended,” except that he also descended to the lower regions, namely, the earth?

Although he was a son, he learned obedience through the things he suffered.
