Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? I tell you the solemn truth, the rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times!
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
The one who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but the one who walks in wisdom will escape.
A person’s pride will bring him low, but one who has a lowly spirit will gain honor.
Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.”
Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today – this very night – before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”
But Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
Jesus replied, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me.”
Jesus replied, “Do you now believe?
Jesus said a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Feed my sheep.
This happened three times, and then everything was pulled up to heaven again.
So let the one who thinks he is standing be careful that he does not fall.
