The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth, and a cloth wrapped around his face. Jesus said to them, “Unwrap him and let him go.”

God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!

For he spoke, and it came into existence, he issued the decree, and it stood firm.

Will I deliver them from the power of Sheol? No, I will not! Will I redeem them from death? No, I will not! O Death, bring on your plagues! O Sheol, bring on your destruction! My eyes will not show any compassion!

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Then another slave came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina that I put away for safekeeping in a piece of cloth.

So the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.

and the face cloth, which had been around Jesus’ head, not lying with the strips of linen cloth but rolled up in a place by itself.

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.

I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming – and is now here – when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

who will transform these humble bodies of ours into the likeness of his glorious body by means of that power by which he is able to subject all things to himself.

and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive – forever and ever – and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!

The Lord both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
