Is it good for you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands, while you smile on the schemes of the wicked?

“As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter –

I will never declare that you three are in the right; until I die, I will not set aside my integrity!

I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go; my conscience will not reproach me for as long as I live.

You have become cruel to me; with the strength of your hand you attack me.

With Job’s three friends he was also angry, because they could not find an answer, and so declared Job guilty.

“Indeed, you have said in my hearing (I heard the sound of the words!):

“Do you think this to be just: when you say, ‘My right before God.’

Would you indeed annul my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?

Certainly zeal for your house consumes me; I endure the insults of those who insult you.

After looking around at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

But the expert, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger.
