Jeremiah 37:9

Moreover, I, the Lord, warn you not to deceive yourselves into thinking that the Babylonian forces will go away and leave you alone. For they will not go away.

Let him not trust in what is worthless, deceiving himself; for worthlessness will be his reward.

“For the Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, ‘Do not let the prophets or those among you who claim to be able to predict the future by divination deceive you. And do not pay any attention to the dreams that you are encouraging them to dream.

Your presumptuous heart has deceived you – you who reside in the safety of the rocky cliffs, whose home is high in the mountains. You think to yourself, ‘No one can bring me down to the ground!’

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows,

Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.

Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.
