Jeremiah 30:21

New English Translation

One of their own people will be their leader. Their ruler will come from their own number. I will invite him to approach me, and he will do so. For no one would dare approach me on his own. I, the Lord, affirm it!

It was a memorial for the Israelites, that no outsider who is not a descendant of Aaron should approach to burn incense before the Lord, that he might not become like Korah and his company – just as the Lord had spoken by the authority of Moses.

Then he said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning the Lord will make known who are his, and who is holy. He will cause that person to approach him; the person he has chosen he will cause to approach him.

saying, “Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Above his head they put the charge against him, which read: “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”

Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”

God exalted him to his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.

you must select without fail a king whom the Lord your God chooses. From among your fellow citizens you must appoint a king – you may not designate a foreigner who is not one of your fellow Israelites.

I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.

The Lord was king over Jeshurun, when the leaders of the people assembled, the tribes of Israel together.

and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.

He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”
