Isaiah 55:1

“Hey, all who are thirsty, come to the water! You who have no money, come! Buy and eat! Come! Buy wine and milk without money and without cost!

I spread my hands out to you in prayer; my soul thirsts for you in a parched land.

O God, you are my God! I long for you! My soul thirsts for you, my flesh yearns for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

“To you, O people, I call out, and my voice calls to all mankind.

Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out its seven pillars.

“Come, eat some of my food, and drink some of the wine I have mixed.

Oh, how I wish you would kiss me passionately! For your lovemaking is more delightful than wine.

Draw me after you; let us hurry! May the king bring me into his bedroom chambers! We will rejoice and delight in you; we will praise your love more than wine. The Beloved to Her Lover: How rightly the young women adore you!

For this is what the Lord says: “You were sold for nothing, and you will not be redeemed for money.”

We must pay money for our own water; we must buy our own wood at a steep price.

Then he brought me back to the entrance of the temple. I noticed that water was flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from under the right side of the temple, from south of the altar.

Every living creature which swarms where the river flows will live; there will be many fish, for these waters flow there. It will become fresh and everything will live where the river flows.

“I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger will turn away from them.

On that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk. All the dry stream beds of Judah will flow with water. A spring will flow out from the temple of the Lord, watering the Valley of Acacia Trees.

The Ephraimites will be like warriors and will rejoice as if they had drunk wine. Their children will see it and rejoice; they will celebrate in the things of the Lord.

“You there! Flee from the northland!” says the Lord, “for like the four winds of heaven I have scattered you,” says the Lord.

The Lord who rules over all will guard them, and they will prevail and overcome with sling stones. Then they will drink, and will become noisy like drunkards, full like the sacrificial basin or like the corners of the altar.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.

I tell you, from now on I will not drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could acquire God’s gift with money!

But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

I fed you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready. In fact, you are still not ready,

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say: “Come!” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wants it take the water of life free of charge.
