All of us had wandered off like sheep; each of us had strayed off on his own path, but the Lord caused the sin of all of us to attack him.

He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.

He was treated harshly and afflicted, but he did not even open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughtering block, like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not even open his mouth.

The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

“Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,

The dogs have big appetites; they are never full. They are shepherds who have no understanding; they all go their own way, each one looking for monetary gain.

When I say to the wicked, “You will certainly die,” and you do not warn him – you do not speak out to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked deed and wicked lifestyle so that he may live – that wicked person will die for his iniquity, but I will hold you accountable for his death.

we have sinned! We have done what is wrong and wicked; we have rebelled by turning away from your commandments and standards.

He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.

he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

For you were going astray like sheep but now you have turned back to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.

In those days Israel had no king. Each man did what he considered to be right.
