He and his entire entourage returned to the prophet. Naaman came and stood before him. He said, “For sure I know that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel! Now, please accept a gift from your servant.”

The one who tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and whoever takes care of his master will be honored.

Drink water from your own cistern and running water from your own well.

Each will sit under his own grapevine or under his own fig tree without any fear. The Lord who commands armies has decreed it.

Therefore I thought it necessary to urge these brothers to go to you in advance and to arrange ahead of time the generous contribution you had promised, so this may be ready as a generous gift and not as something you feel forced to do.

The elders of Jabesh said to him, “Leave us alone for seven days so that we can send messengers throughout the territory of Israel. If there is no one who can deliver us, we will come out voluntarily to you.”
