The Lord said to him, “Who gave a mouth to man, or who makes a person mute or deaf or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

May your mouth be like the best wine, flowing smoothly for my beloved, gliding gently over our lips as we sleep together.

Those who stray morally will gain understanding; those who complain will acquire insight.

Tell those who panic, “Be strong! Do not fear! Look, your God comes to avenge! With divine retribution he comes to deliver you.”

Then blind eyes will open, deaf ears will hear.

They were only hearing, “The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith he once tried to destroy.”
