Too bad for the wicked sinners! For they will get exactly what they deserve.

Far be it from you to do such a thing – to kill the godly with the wicked, treating the godly and the wicked alike! Far be it from you! Will not the judge of the whole earth do what is right?”

listen from heaven and make a just decision about your servants’ claims. Condemn the guilty party, declare the other innocent, and give both of them what they deserve.

If I am guilty, woe to me, and if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head; I am full of shame, and satiated with my affliction.

Pay them back for their evil deeds! Pay them back for what they do! Punish them!

and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love. For you repay men for what they do.

Therefore they will eat from the fruit of their way, and they will be stuffed full of their own counsel.

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, how much more the wicked sinner!

A person will be satisfied with good from the fruit of his words, and the work of his hands will be rendered to him.

The one who digs a pit will fall into it; the one who rolls a stone – it will come back on him.

But it will not go well with the wicked, nor will they prolong their days like a shadow, because they do not stand in fear before God.

I will punish the world for its evil, and wicked people for their sin. I will put an end to the pride of the insolent, I will bring down the arrogance of tyrants.

There will be no prosperity for the wicked,” says the Lord.

Never again will one of her infants live just a few days or an old man die before his time. Indeed, no one will die before the age of a hundred, anyone who fails to reach the age of a hundred will be considered cursed.

The person who sins is the one who will die. A son will not suffer for his father’s iniquity, and a father will not suffer for his son’s iniquity; the righteous person will be judged according to his righteousness, and the wicked person according to his wickedness.

He unrolled it before me, and it had writing on the front and back; written on it were laments, mourning, and woe.

“‘I the Lord have spoken; judgment is coming and I will act! I will not relent, or show pity, or be sorry! I will judge you according to your conduct and your deeds, declares the sovereign Lord.’”

When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you must certainly die,’ and you do not warn the wicked about his behavior, the wicked man will die for his iniquity, but I will hold you accountable for his death.

Someday these sinners will cry to the Lord for help, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time, because they have done such wicked deeds.”

The earth will become desolate because of what its inhabitants have done.

“But if you do not do this, then look, you will have sinned against the Lord. And know that your sin will find you out.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil.

For judgment is merciless for the one who has shown no mercy. But mercy triumphs over judgment.

God also repaid the men of Shechem for their evil deeds. The curse spoken by Jotham son of Jerub-Baal fell on them.
