That very night the Lord’s messenger went out and killed 185,000 men in the Assyrian camp. When they got up early the next morning, there were all the corpses.

Evil men will soon disappear; you will stare at the spot where they once were, but they will be gone.

The one who sows iniquity will reap trouble, and the rod of his fury will end.

Assyria, the club I use to vent my anger, is as good as dead, a cudgel with which I angrily punish.

Wail, for the Lord’s day of judgment is near; it comes with all the destructive power of the sovereign judge.
