When Israel was a young man, I loved him like a son, and I summoned my son out of Egypt.

“Since my youth they have often attacked me,” let Israel say.

‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I lifted you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.

You must say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Israel is my son, my firstborn,

and I said to you, ‘Let my son go that he may serve me,’ but since you have refused to let him go, I will surely kill your son, your firstborn!”’”

Since you are precious and special in my sight, and I love you, I will hand over people in place of you, nations in place of your life.

“I will abandon my nation. I will forsake the people I call my own. I will turn my beloved people over to the power of their enemies.

“Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem: ‘This is what the Lord says: “I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

And with all your abominable practices and prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth when you were naked and bare, kicking around in your blood.

“‘I passed by you and saw you kicking around helplessly in your blood. I said to you as you lay there in your blood, “Live!” I said to you as you lay there in your blood, “Live!”

So will it happen to you, O Bethel, because of your great wickedness! When that day dawns, the king of Israel will be destroyed.

The Lord brought Israel out of Egypt by a prophet, and due to a prophet Israel was preserved alive.

“I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt; I will make you live in tents again as in the days of old.

But I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt. Therefore, you must not acknowledge any God but me; except me there is no Savior.

From there I will give back her vineyards to her, and turn the “Valley of Trouble” into an “Opportunity for Hope.” There she will sing as she did when she was young, when she came up from the land of Egypt.

“I have shown love to you,” says the Lord, but you say, “How have you shown love to us?” “Esau was Jacob’s brother,” the Lord explains, “yet I chose Jacob

He stayed there until Herod died. In this way what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet was fulfilled: “I called my Son out of Egypt.”

Surely he loves the people; all your holy ones are in your power. And they sit at your feet, each receiving your words.

It is not because you were more numerous than all the other peoples that the Lord favored and chose you – for in fact you were the least numerous of all peoples.
