The Lord appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest time of the day.

After she and her household were baptized, she urged us, “If you consider me to be a believer in the Lord, come and stay in my house.” And she persuaded us.

Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.

Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus the city treasurer and our brother Quartus greet you.

The overseer then must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, an able teacher,

and has a reputation for good works: as one who has raised children, practiced hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, helped those in distress – as one who has exhibited all kinds of good works.

Instead he must be hospitable, devoted to what is good, sensible, upright, devout, and self-controlled.

Show hospitality to one another without complaining.

Dear friend, you demonstrate faithfulness by whatever you do for the brothers (even though they are strangers).
