Genesis 43:23

New English Translation

“Everything is fine,” the man in charge of Joseph’s household told them. “Don’t be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks. I had your money.” Then he brought Simeon out to them.

He turned away from them and wept. When he turned around and spoke to them again, he had Simeon taken from them and tied up before their eyes.

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. Just as the Father has sent me, I also send you.”

Eight days later the disciples were again together in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

The old man said, “Everything is just fine! I will take care of all your needs. But don’t spend the night in the town square.”

The Lord said to him, “You are safe! Do not be afraid! You are not going to die!”

Then you will say to my brother, “Peace to you and your house! Peace to all that is yours!
