When the sheep mated in front of the branches, they gave birth to young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

Jacob heard that Laban’s sons were complaining, “Jacob has taken everything that belonged to our father! He has gotten rich at our father’s expense!”

“Once during breeding season I saw in a dream that the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled, and spotted.

Surely all the wealth that God snatched away from our father belongs to us and to our children. So now do everything God has told you.”

two hundred female goats and twenty male goats, two hundred ewes and twenty rams,

For every wild animal in the forest belongs to me, as well as the cattle that graze on a thousand hills.

A benevolent person leaves an inheritance for his grandchildren, but the wealth of a sinner is stored up for the righteous.

Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
