Then the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and take the possessions for yourself.”

But at the end of the appointed time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven, and my sanity returned to me. I extolled the Most High, and I praised and glorified the one who lives forever. For his authority is an everlasting authority, and his kingdom extends from one generation to the next.

‘The silver and gold will be mine,’ says the Lord who rules over all.

The heavens – indeed the highest heavens – belong to the Lord your God, as does the earth and everything in it.

For I raise up my hand to heaven, and say, ‘As surely as I live forever,
