So there were quarrels between Abram’s herdsmen and Lot’s herdsmen. (Now the Canaanites and the Perizzites were living in the land at that time.)

Then I said, “The thing that you are doing is wrong! Should you not conduct yourselves in the fear of our God in order to avoid the reproach of the Gentiles who are our enemies?

When some shepherds came and drove them away, Moses came up and defended them and then watered their flock.

It is an honor for a person to cease from strife, but every fool quarrels.

If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

for you are still influenced by the flesh. For since there is still jealousy and dissension among you, are you not influenced by the flesh and behaving like unregenerate people?

Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunities.

In this way you will live a decent life before outsiders and not be in need.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.

For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice.

Where do the conflicts and where do the quarrels among you come from? Is it not from this, from your passions that battle inside you?

and maintain good conduct among the non-Christians, so that though they now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God when he appears.
