Exodus 15:17

You will bring them in and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, in the place you made for your residence, O Lord, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established.

I will establish a place for my people Israel and settle them there; they will live there and not be disturbed any more. Violent men will not oppress them again, as they did in the beginning

O Lord, truly I have built a lofty temple for you, a place where you can live permanently.”

Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom.

“I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.”

You, by your power, defeated nations and settled our fathers on their land; you crushed the people living there and enabled our ancestors to occupy it.

Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, at the mountain where God has decided to live? Indeed the Lord will live there permanently!

He lives in Salem; he dwells in Zion.

the root your right hand planted, the shoot you made to grow!

You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.

By your loyal love you will lead the people whom you have redeemed; you will guide them by your strength to your holy dwelling place.

“I am going to send an angel before you to protect you as you journey and to bring you into the place that I have prepared.

Let them make for me a sanctuary, so that I may live among them.

So now go, lead the people to the place I have spoken to you about. See, my angel will go before you. But on the day that I punish, I will indeed punish them for their sin.”

I planted you in the land like a special vine of the very best stock. Why in the world have you turned into something like a wild vine that produces rotten, foul-smelling grapes?

The Lord God of Israel who rules over all says, “I will restore the people of Judah to their land and to their towns. When I do, they will again say of Jerusalem, ‘May the Lord bless you, you holy mountain, the place where righteousness dwells.’

I will take delight in doing good to them. I will faithfully and wholeheartedly plant them firmly in the land.’

I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be a perpetual covenant with them. I will establish them, increase their numbers, and place my sanctuary among them forever.

Then, when my sanctuary is among them forever, the nations will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel.’”

They will summon peoples to the mountain, there they will sacrifice proper sacrifices; for they will enjoy the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the shores.

But if your own land is impure, cross over to the Lord’s own land, where the Lord himself lives, and settle down among us. But don’t rebel against the Lord or us by building for yourselves an altar aside from the altar of the Lord our God.
