He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving, and the Egyptians said, “Let’s flee from Israel, for the Lord fights for them against Egypt!”

All the kingdoms of the surrounding lands were afraid of God when they heard how the Lord had fought against Israel’s enemies.

When I had made an inspection, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the great and awesome Lord, and fight on behalf of your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your families!”

When all our enemies heard and all the nations who were around us saw this, they were greatly disheartened. They knew that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.

You split the sea before them, and they crossed through the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into surging waters.

But the eyes of the wicked fail, and escape eludes them; their one hope is to breathe their last.”

If he flees from an iron weapon, then an arrow from a bronze bow pierces him.

It hurls itself against him without pity as he flees headlong from its power.

O Lord, fight those who fight with me! Attack those who attack me!

He brings an end to wars throughout the earth; he shatters the bow and breaks the spear; he burns the shields with fire.

The Lord will fight for you, and you can be still.”

And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I have gained my honor because of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will chase after them. I will gain honor because of Pharaoh and because of all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So this is what they did.

I used you to smash horses and their riders. I used you to smash chariots and their drivers.

So I will set fire to Rabbah’s city wall; fire will consume her fortresses. War cries will be heard on the day of battle; a strong gale will blow on the day of the windstorm.

Disaster will be inescapable, as if a man ran from a lion only to meet a bear, then escaped into a house, leaned his hand against the wall, and was bitten by a poisonous snake.

I saw the sovereign One standing by the altar and he said, “Strike the tops of the support pillars, so the thresholds shake! Knock them down on the heads of all the people, and I will kill the survivors with the sword. No one will be able to run away; no one will be able to escape.

The Lord your God is about to go ahead of you; he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt

Do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God will personally fight for you.”

For our enemies’ rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede.

There has not been a day like it before or since. The Lord obeyed a man, for the Lord fought for Israel!

The Lord routed Sisera, all his chariotry, and all his army with the edge of the sword. Sisera jumped out of his chariot and ran away on foot.
